Jack Eskridge

Instruction

Overview

I teach all levels of folk, acoustic, rock, pop, blues and jazz. Private lessons are given at my home studio in Orinda, where I’ve taught full-time since 1980.

My students range in age from seven to seventy+, although many are in middle school, high school and college jazz bands. My older students are often professional performers or fellow guitar teachers.

I am patient and supportive with beginners, yet versatile and thorough with more advanced players. With committed long-term students, every aspect of guitar playing will be addressed.

I also provide students with the correct chords, tunings, capo usage and easy-to-read tablature, when needed, as opposed to the often incorrect material frequently obtained from the internet.

Location

Conveniently located between Contra Costa and Alameda counties, and serving students from Orinda, Lafayette, Moraga, El Sobrante, Walnut Creek, Concord, Pleasant Hill, Martinez, Alamo, Danville and San Ramon, as well as Oakland, Berkeley and Albany. My studio is close to Highway 24 and BART.

Hours & Payment

Lessons are given between 12 noon and 8pm, Monday through Saturday. Prices vary depending upon  length of weekly lessons -- typically 30, 45 or 60 minutes each (although longer lessons may be arranged). Students wishing to take more than one lesson per week or to pre-pay more than four at a time will receive a discounted rate.
