I teach all levels of folk, acoustic and hard rock, pop, blues and jazz. Private lessons are given at my home studio in Orinda, where I’ve taught full-time since 1980.
My students range in age from seven to seventy, although many are in their middle or high school and college bands. My older students are often professional performers or guitar teachers.
I am patient and supportive with beginners, yet versatile and thorough with more advanced players. With committed long-term students, every aspect of guitar playing will be addressed.
I also provide students with the correct chords, tunings, capo usage and easy to read tablature they need, as opposed to the often incorrect material frequently obtained from the internet.
Conveniently located between Contra Cost and Alameda counties, I have taught hundreds of students from Orinda, Lafayette, Moraga, Walnut Creek, Alamo, Danville, San Ramon, Pleasant Hill & Martinez, as well as Oakland and Berkeley. My Studio is close to Highway 24 & Bart.
Hours are between 12 noon and 8 pm, Monday through Saturday. Private lessons are typically 30, 45 or 60 minutes in length, and received once a week. 30 minute lessons are $35; 45 minute lessons are $50 & 1 hour lessons are $70.
Lessons are pre-paid in packages of four and may be spread beyond thirty days if necessary. Students wishing to take more than one lesson per week or to pre-pay more than four at a time will receive a discount rate.
